Short Stories

I've begun exploring the world of short stories since seventh grade. I use them to express morals and feelings that affect me during certain times in my life, but I try to leave them mostly open-ended because I believe that individual experiences may be different, but at heart, their themes are part of human nature and can be relatable to everyone in different ways. My latest exploration has been in extended metaphors. You can find the majority of my short stories by clicking the button below.

Short Stories

Currently, I'm working on a novel titled The Unlikeables. The book follows two plots. One plot follows a young but maturing writer, referred to as "the Narrator" and the rebellious personification of her youth and ambition, referred to as "Pageboy." The other plot follows six neglected fictional characters of the Narrator's creation -- fantasy elves Prince Thane the Brave and Prince Aeryn the Tall, dystopian civilian Axton, outlaw Marygold Chen, murder mystery detective Ramiro Pérez, and superhero Major Marvellous. As the Pageboy furiously writes what is hopefully the book that will save the Narrator's hope, creativity, and writing career, he spins an epic tale in which Thane, Aeryn, Axton, Marygold, Pérez, and Marvellous must join forces, unite their fractured world, and overcome their deepest insecurities in order to overthrow the encroaching evil.

Journalism

Although I'm relatively new to the world of journalism, I've always been fascinated with the process of storytelling and learning. Since joining the school newspaper in February 2026, I have developed a strong love for interviewing and writing about people, their nature, and their passion. In the process, I have learned more about myself and others, and I greatly enjoy writing features and reviews.

Journalism

I love writing poems, and I especially have a soft spot for four-lined stanzas with AABB or ABAB rhyme schemes and poems that end with what they started. In my poems, I explore a lot of concepts such as love, betrayal, and toxic relationships, as well as parts of my daily life. I have been writing poetry since at least the second grade, and I write at least one poem almost every month.

Kyber Jewelry

In the summer of 2025, I created a jewelry shop on Etsy focused on fun and unique handmade earrings and jewelry referencing movies, musicals, and books at an affordable price. Kyber Jewelry also has a Hopebound Collection, which donates 50% of its profits to worthy causes such as relief for Ukrainian refugees, ocean conservation, and resistance against ICE deportations. All of Kyber Jewelry's products are made in small-scale processes through methods such as beading, wire bending, clay, and 3D-printing.

Art

Alpenliebe: Muối Ớt

As part of the sophomore Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy projects, I made a grid drawing based off of a candy wrapper, inspired by the pop art movement.

The candy depicted in the drawing is a popular candy in Vietnam, commonly found in convenience stores and grocery stores. It's a hard, mango-flavored lozenge filled with chili lime salt.

Colored pencil on paper. The paper is folded in half and a sticker LED circuit sits on the inside, lighting up the two candy pieces and the chili lime salt filling.

Romeo and Juliet: Prologue by William Shakespeare (lettering by Nam-Anh Lê)

Despite not having received as much time and dedication as my other skills, I do love making words look cool.

After reading Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in English class, I came to the conclusion that the language and its beauty makes up for what the story lacks. I loved how poetic Shakespeare's words were, and thought that I might have a try at making them come to life. I spent a month in total on the lettering to the left, first sketching it out on paper, then tracing it and adding finishing touches digitally.

Featuring nearly thirty different fonts, three of which are different forms of cursive, and one of which is my natural handwriting (as a kind of Easter egg), this is only a small example of what my classmates call my "plethora of fonts".

Goober Art

The Fellowship of the Ring

As the nine protagonists of my favourite fictional story ever, Frodo, Gandalf, Sam, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Pippin, Boromir, and Merry have a special place in my heart.

I was really glad to have this opportunity to bring out the goofiness in these characters. Someday, I'd love to have them printed out as stickers.

Coding

the blue game

Because of my enrollment in the DPEA, I am re-learning how to code, something I haven't done for years. Recently, I was able to code the blue game, a simple game on Scratch.
